In the Sannazzaro Refinery there are circular tanks intended for the storage of fuels and combustibles. Each tank is protected by a perimeter retaining wall, made with a thickness of approx. 80 cm, whose function is to ensure safety and protection from liquid spills or accidents, preventing environmental contamination.

It became necessary to realise access points both for the operating vehicles and for the maintenance and monitoring personnel of the tanks. For this reason, the perimeter walls were sectioned by diamond wire cutting, allowing the opening of large gates, 4 m wide by 12 m high, as well as pedestrian passages and passages dedicated to the transit of equipment necessary for the proper functioning of the containment tanks.
