The project involved the complete redevelopment of a garage, with the aim of improving accessibility and circulation interior of the vehicles. The intervention included the enlargement of the entrance and internal passages, an operation made possible through the controlled demolition of portions of the load-bearing walls. These parts were replaced with new steelwork structures, designed to guarantee the full safety and continuity of the building's static performance.

The intervention began inside the garage, where a diamond blade cut was performed to safely remove the affected portion of masonry, while ensuring the full stability of the building. Since the beam above it played an essential role in the distribution of vertical loads, a reinforcement in steelwork specially designed, consisting of a main beam and its supporting uprights, assembled by means of bolted connections to ensure structural continuity and adequate load-bearing capacity. This configuration ensured the correct recovery and redistribution of loads, thus ensuring continuity, efficiency and full reliability of the new load-bearing system.

At the entrance to the garage there was an access ramp that, due to a pillar positioned near the opening, significantly restricted the passage of cars. In order to allow its demolition in total safety, the intervention was planned and conducted following a precise operational sequence, in full compliance with the design requirements. In the first phase, the overhanging beam was shored up and a hydraulic counterthrust jack was installed, calibrated to absorb the load indicated by the designer, in order to guarantee the building's stability during all the works. Once the safety conditions were obtained, the vertical and horizontal cutting of the septum was carried out using a diamond blade, an operation that allowed the portion to be removed to be precisely separated without transmitting harmful vibrations to the existing structure.

Subsequently, the pillar was demolished and the through holes in the masonry, necessary for the subsequent phase of banding the reinforced concrete wall. Within these holes, threaded rods were inserted and grouted, completed with dimensioned connecting plates to ensure proper stress distribution. Once the assembly operations were completed, all bolts were carefully tightened and then tensioned to ensure their full functional efficiency and the proper performance of the entire reinforcement system.

The intervention was concluded with the full restoration of the functionality and accessibility of the garage, ensuring the smooth and safe circulation of vehicles inside the new gates. The metal carpentry structures installed now ensure the static continuity of the building, giving lasting stability and full reliability to the load-bearing system.
